That’s the best as3 toy Ive seen so far. Easy. I can’t even begin to comprehend the maths behind this thing. I hope you’re rich by now.

i dont believe that andre knows the math behind this in every detail. Why should he, …
The power comes from experimenting and refining the parameters… :-)
And to love doing that…i could image.

that’s really an amazing AS3 experiment… It looks like there are nested changing displacementmaps of sorts… crazy

Hello Andre,
You showed us the particle power of the Flash with AS3, this is great.

I think we can see most of particle effects that we are familiar with after effects and the best thing they are “interactive” now :)

I don;’t get this. How do I compile main.as into a .swf?
Can’t figure out how to do this. >>

I garauntee you Andre knows exactly what Math was involved here. Look at his source code…it’s clean, simple and structured perfectly. This man knows his stuff.

I’m sure he’s experimented quite a bit to tailor this effect to perfection but this code was not hacked together.

Hi

You need to open this in Flex Builder. Use the import feature of it and then select import an existing workspace/ project.

Cheers

P.S. Andre is rocking with his Maths
